The names include . . . .

  • Hank Aaron
  • Larry King
  • Rush Limbaugh
  • Marvin Hagler
  • Elgin Baylor
  • Walter Mondale
  • Donald Rumsfeld
  • Ed Asner
  • Demaryius Thomas
  • Colin Powell
  • Al Unser
  • Bob Dole
  • Cicely Tyson

and others.

√ Every year, there is a posting of those who were known by thousands and millions and have died. [1]

√ Those people who are posted and remembered are typically called “celebrities,” “famous,” or “stars.”

√ Most people will die little known — but by a few hundred, their family, far fewer, or no one.

√ Even of those “celebrities,” who died in 2002, many will not be known by thousands and millions of other people who live during, before, or after their lifetime.

√ Some of the most famous will die relatively young, others will make it into their 90s — Demaryius Thomas, 33 / Cicely Tyson, 96 / Bob Dole, 98.

√ Some unknowns will outlive the most well-known, and will be known only because they have lived to 100 or more.

√ All His are known to Him, whether or not well-known, or faintly known in this world!

as I said unto you.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
I and my Father are one.
John 10

√ Everyone we know will die* — before or after us!

√ The last enemy has yet to be destroyed.

“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.”

I Corinthians 15:22-28
